My middle school had that because a kid got caught watching something they shouldn’t (idk if I can say what but I’m sure you can figure it out) but I don’t believe anything like that happened. That’s terrible!
At my school, the teachers use like three different ways to watch what we're doing on the computers, so they'll catch kids on anything they're not supposed to be on. It's not the best system, though, because my English teacher was reading one of my friend's emails via the apps they use to monitor the kids.
Wait there's more pjo books? I thought it was just the first three and then The Sun and the Star, and I was so confused, I was like "How did we get from 'oh hi it's Nico di Angelos' to 'NICO AND WILL ARE BOYFRIENDS'? Did I miss something?"
Hooky makes me so happy! Did you know that Miriam Bonastre Tur is making another book, Marionetta? I've been reading it on Webtoon, and I'm super excited for when it becomes a physical book in 2026!
omg I love Rick Riordan!! I especially love that after he was finished with the pjo universe (except really he's not lol there's still more coming out!!!) he started his own imprint for other mythology authors. it's so cool :D
ooh there's also a poem from Anne Sexton that I just remembered but can't recall the name (lol this is turning into such a long comment/reply!) and the first few lines go:
We are America. / We are the coffin fillers. / We are the grocers of death. / We pack them in crates like cauliflowers.
anyways I love that one and most of her other work haha. what are your favorites & have you read any of mine??
ooh I haven't read that one but I love Jabberwocky and Carroll's other famous one, The Hunting of the Snark. I'm working my way through the new Century of Poetry in the New Yorker right now, so I'll get back to you on favorite ones from that lol! I also love Lucille Clifton - my favorite one from her is my dream about the cows - Mary Oliver (Wild Geese or Peonies) and Anne Sexton (In Celebration of my Uterus or The Truth the Dead Know). sry that was a lot but I rly love poetry haha!!!
my school's pretty much the same as bumblebea's - we've been warned against using it and all ai sites are blocked on our school chromebooks, so most people don't use it, but a few of our teachers have encouraged using it for brainstorming or rough outlines. I don't think using ai is necessarily bad, but I don't think anyone should use it to cheat at anything, including schoolwork.
oh cool!! when i was in like third grade i wrote three letters to my superintendent (backed by my teacher!) about getting days off for a jewish holiday; sadly he never responded, but lately ive wanted to send letters to my senators/congresspeople. hopefully yours goes better haha!!
