Living in the Moment

Living in the Moment

To live in the moment

is to really see

to really feel the world around you

to live in the moment is to capture the glow of a camper's hair in the sunlight

to feel connected with the people around you

to understand how every moment slips away quickly

too quickly

so you must savor it while it lasts

to live in the moment is to hold the present to your heart

feel the gentle breeze in your hair

the sun balancing out the cool air

warming your face

as you play with the strings of the friendship bracelets tied to your water bottle

living in the moment

is being at peace with the people around you

the place you're in

living in the moment

peaceful

comforting

a sense of calm and order in the world

troubled thoughts aren't erased from your mind

just lightly tossed to the back

letting the moment sink in

absorbing what will soon dissolve

for living in the moment is a temporary thing

because it soon becomes the past

and then a distant memory

so to live in the moment

is peace

if not in the world

but in your eyesight.
